being Successful

via Daily Prompt: Successful

Being successful is not what humans lack in their life. We run after success because in the end of the day we would be happily answering our inner selves:

” I achieved my goals! I’ve been blessed by God to accomplish what I needed to be, what I wanted to be or What my purpose was!”.

And yes, that’s gonna make us happy, the feeling to be the winner; where we were not competing with others but, our own inner demon that forces us to do nothing in our lives,regret-for-living-somebodys-life

and seriously that Nothing transforms into a great Regret, after years.

And for being successful in our lives, it’s not just to be a millionaire, to live in a luxurious villa, or at times being able to buy anything without thinking of your resources.

Instead, for me, success is when we are satisfied with our exertions though not being able to touch the red flag so far. But just the efforts, the efforts to become something you are not at the present. The every effort we do, we’re making our time something worth we are gonna be proud of in the future.

Doing nothing will transform into a big regret in the coming years, try to do something, start from the beginning doing the smallest of the daily assignments. And don’t let those inner Demons come over you.

We’ll be happy and satisfied in the future for not letting the bad days come over us, and proud because we did something. We made the darkest days, the brighter ones.

happiness & freedom

And after years at that stage of our lives, there’d be something worth evoking.

And trust me,

that would be the greatest Success!

Diet of a Diabetic

It’s always been so difficult for me to know about the perfect diet of a diabetic patient in a single website. As they write all those unnecessary things with the important ones and sometimes even digress from the topic, which makes almost every one of us to feel annoying at sometimes.

That’s why today I’m gonna share a diet plan for a diabetic patient, feel free to share it.

Food you should eat: (The best ones)

  • Green vegetables are the best for keepin’ a good balance in diabetes.
  • Add Cottage Cheese in your daily diet: you probably can enjoy it in your Salads; (for the Cheese Dressing Salad scroll a bit down).
  • Barley could be the key in warding off diabetes. You should consume it once in a week. (scroll down for the Barley Bread/Roti recipe)
  • Olive Oil is also the best thing for diabetics. You can easily consume it while using in your daily meal (1-2 tbsp) or use it as your salad dressing.
  • Brocolli is a nice green vegetable, you’ll deffinitely enjoy eatin’ it.
  • You should try including a small piece of baked/ grilled Fish OR Tuna, if not daily then at least once in a week.
  • Husk: This fiber supplement has been proven to help people with diabetes, control blood sugar better.
  • Spinach is one of many leafy greens that have been shown to drop the risk of
    developing diabetes.
  • Cinnamon: Several studies have shown that this delicious spice can help reduce blood sugar.
  • Turmeric is proven to be the best nutralizer. Adding it to the daily meal (while cooking) can help nutralize the bad effects of the food.
  • Grape fruit is also a good food for diabetes.
  • Bitter guard is known as the key ingredient in reducing the high sugar level to moderate.
  • Yogurt is also a good choice.
  • use Skimmed Milk instead of using full-fat milk.
  • Raw porridge Oats also helps in reducing blood sugar.
  • Roasted Grams are best while you feel hungry at odd times.

Food you should not eat: ( The worst ones)

  • Coffee Drinks:
Many coffee shops loads the mug of your coffee with a lot of unnecessary carbs, which is completely worst choice for a diabetic. Whereas the regular mug of black coffee is a good thing in controlling blood sugar.
  • Battered Fish Dinners:
Avoid Fried Breaded Fish with high carb sauces or Fries. Whereas Simple baked fish is the best choice for diabetics.
  • Fruit Juice Beverages:
Avoid them because they contain a high content of calories and sugar.
  • French Fries:
Most of the fried items should be avoided. As they contain Fats, and probably are high in calories.
  • Purchased Cookies:
Home-made cookies are a good choice but, Purchased cookies are always loaded with Butter, high-fructose corn syrup, shortening, margarine, and partially hydrogenated or hydrogenated oils. Which is probably the worst choice for a diabetic.
  • Fried Chicken:
Fried chicken is a pack of fats and calories, that’s why it is better to stay away from it as an alternative you can try a less fatty choice which is Baked/Grilled chicken.
  • Canned fruits:
are worst for diabetics because it contains excessive amount of sugars.
  • Frizzy Drinks
  • And obviously Bacon and Alchohol drinks.

Recipe of barley Roti:

If we look a few hundred years back, we would know that people of that times always used barley flour instead of white flour (we use nowadays). But I think it’s impssible now to live those disease free days by taking us back to those time, living their lifestyle is way too difficult now. But there’s a nice step we can take to reduce the risks of the dangerous diseases that have become quite normal these days.
What we can do is, just plan a tradition, light but nutritious diet once or twice in a week. That could probably help us in a better way!

When I heared about that old time’s Barley Roti. And I searched that on google and found a very dry and thick kind of Roti. Which was so undelicious by look. And was difficult to handle while cooking.

But I have got a very nice and easy recipe of mine.. You’d love to try!

Food intake ways:

  • Make a good routine of taking you meals on time. By time I don’t mean to say there should be specific timing, but the right timing.
  • A diabetic should take meals in small portions which helps in better digestion.
  • Dinner should be eaten before 8 o’clock.
  • Must walk for at least 5 minutes after your dinner.
  • Never skip Breakfast!

So this is the short compilation of a Diabetic’s Diet. Hope this would help you in the best way!!
Have a nice day ❤

Barley Chapati

Hi everyone!

Today I’m gonna share a very easy thing with you… this recipe is the result of my own experiments. Hope you’d like it!

Barley as a Nutritious food:

It has a range of important vitamins and minerals: fiber, selenium, B vitamins, copper, chromium, phosphorus, magnesium, niacin, and more. And when compared to many other grains, even other ancient whole-grains, barley is lower in fat and calories, but higher in dietary fiber and certain trace minerals.

A very easy way of making barley a nice thing to be eaten…

You’ll be surprised when you’d see the result of your work; to make a chapati with barley flour, all you need is:

  • 3 cups of Barley flour
  • A teaspoon of Yeast
  • Salt
  • Warm water

Now just mix all the ingredents together. Add enough water to make a runny paste, the consistency should be same as like pancake mixture.
Now heat the non-stick pan you’re gonna make it in. Brush it with just a drop of oil. When you see the pan is nicely heated, pour the batter of barley with the help of a ladle & spread the mixture with the back of the ladle while circling it and stretching the batter out of the circle again and again.

Wait for it to get dry and form small air bubbles on the upper side you can see… just turn it upside down with the help of a food turner.  Keep pressing it with the turner from different sides. And when you see that cooked colour of golden and brown on it,

remove your chapati from the pan. And that’s all!
You can also brush the cooked chapati with ghee as it keeps it very soft and chewable.

p.s. I’ll be posting a small compilation of DIET OF A DIABETIC very soon. Keep intouch for that!

    Review: Kylie Matte Lip gloss

Hi, everybody! after long time… hope y’all are doin’ well. So, my reason for being away was; actually, days are passing so quickly as I’m helping my sister in her exams preparation, and being a bit studious I’m more worried for her exams and good results. :p

so I’ll be writing a review about my matte lip glosses that’s been liked by so many friends of mine… and they’ve always been asking for the brand, price, and other info… So girls here you go! 🙂

Maybe I like them because I love dark colors (not that much dark but…) and I really love Matte lipsticks and glosses :p haha! you people cannot understand the struggle I’ll be going through while writing this post. Because I don’t really like to talk about make-up, dresses, in short, those typical Girls talks.. 😀 Sorry! Ok!

From where did I buy them?

A few months ago we had a festival in our school where so many stalls were arranged, but I saw a fairytale kind of sparkling and winking stall in the corner attracting me towards itself. And literally, I couldn’t resist buying a few nail paints and these lip glosses. Actually, the real reason for buying them was that the Syrian girl was so sweet and she was so nicely hosting and telling us about these products :p

    Review:

    By KYLIE

They actually look so beautiful and gives a fine finishing because as we apply the coat, it instantly dries out and doesn’t give that unfinished or messy look. Neither these glosses need any touch-up, time to time OR after eating or drinking something at parties.

How much do they cost ?

They are so cheap and costs not at all much, that after buying you can never feel that you wasted your money on something useless.
They are worth 30 SAR which makes 850 PKR.
A great thing to spend money on. 🙂

    Vacations; with a Saudi touch

Today, I was thinking about what type of blog post shall I write. And for a difference with the previous posts, I got a topic “Lifestyle of People living in Saudi Arabia”.
Maybe this thought came to my mind because I’m always very much excited to know ’bout the lifestyles of people, who are special to me, 🙂 and thought that you people may also like to know something different this time. 😀

Nowadays, we are enjoying or maybe some of us are getting bored of summer vacations. But here, these are the days, when we leave our daily routines which have made our life dull and boring.

The lifestyle of people living in Saudi Arabia:

Days during vacations VS working days are completely different here. Let’s talk about vacations today!

Waking up without any alarm is a Divine. But when you wake up in a hurry and suddenly look at your phone, because your alarm just didn’t ring. And finding that it’s almost 12 o’ clock right here. 😮 Ooops!. But then we realise that Yayyy it’s our holiday ( which means DO WHATEVER you wanna do!) 😀

The sun winks through the windows after zuhr at almost 12, and then brunch continues. After that, we have to get ready for enjoyment! Yes, because I’ve joined Summer camps, this vacation.

    Summer Camps!

The bus reaches at the gate directly after Asar, and on almost 4 we are at the school.
Reaching there and meeting the friends makes the day so refreshing. And then we move on to greet the teachers and principal.

    The question is…
What do we do there from 4- 8?

The camps are all about functions, programs & competitions. Each day is specified for different activities and tasks.

♣    The first day which means Sunday’s been spent on Qur’an and a few competitions till the sky turns black.

    ♣    Monday goes for knowledge gaining programs. Like, last time we had a journalist who taught us the basic and the mains of journalism {e.g. how to write a news etc?}

♣    Tuesday is specified for arts and crafts, and in the evening the Principal مديره organises a presentation and we act as audience or sometimes she ask us to organise 1 and becomes the judge herself.

♣    Wednesday goes for سوق. Different stalls are arranged in the main hall, so the students and teachers can shop from there.

And that’s all! we have to go there for just 4 days.

    Dinner time!

It’s a trend here that people like to sit in a park and spend the vacations by waking up all night in the park OR at home. You’ll find the markets open, and there are certain festivals arranged near the parks where you can enjoy Shopping, Circus & the traditional Saudi Food.

    Typical Saudi serving. /Khaleeji/

This thing matters a lot in Saudi culture, it’s believed that a person who doesn’t serve قهوه to the guests has no etiquettes, and is a miser. [Strange but True]

Finally tis time for Fajr prayer.& This is how a common holiday of a Saudi comes to an end!

I hope you enjoyed! see you…

    Tiramisu

    Origin

Tiramisu is an Italian dessert enriched with the touch of coffee.

So it’s about today that I thought; I must try some nice dessert, and Tiramisu just came to my mind.

The recipe I’m sharing here is not how Original Italian tiramisu is made. Instead, this recipe is a result of a few variations. And it’s very common here in Saudi Arabia

    Recipe

    Ingredients:

    Heavy Cream/ regular Cream
    Nutella
    Tea biscuits
    Instant Coffee
    Cocoa Powder
    Sugar
    Vanilla Essence

    Formula:

Beat the cream for almost 20 min non-stop  with a few breaks. OR until it turns slightly thicker than before. Add sugar & vanilla essence in it and beat to combine them up.

Now pour 1/4 part of your cream in another bowl. Add Nutella in that cream It’s up to you, to your desired taste. Mix it well and leave it aside.
    Its time to make a cup of coffee with warm water, and just dip the biscuits for 1-2 seconds only and set them in any baking tray as a base. {I took double biscuit each time and it formed a nice thick base}
the second layer would be the Nutella-cream mi
    xture.
And now again its the turn for the coffee dipped biscuits. For the final layer or for the topping you need to spread the cream all over.
In the end just dust the cocoa powder over the cream and cover the tray with cling film and let it refrigerate for almost 2-3 hours.

    Tips & Tricks!

    • Don’t dip the biscuits longer than 3 seconds. As it would make your base so wobbly.
    • Try not to use the whipping cream. Because it has a kind of foamy texture and that doesn’t taste well.
    • If you’ll add less sugar in the vanilla cream mixture it would be better because Nutella is way too sweeter so, you have to balance the amount of sugar by yourself. IT’S ALL UPTO YOU.
Do let me know what was your first experience with this. And for any queries you can comment below. 🙂

What lead me to look inside books?

Basically, I was not a book reader. The reason for why I like to read several categories of books (now) is; Since childhood everybody’s been studying, for whatever course maybe of their schools/ colleges Is. The same thing was with me. But, at every time of your age/ your LIFE, Mothers are the real motivators to do this/that typpa things, So is my mother.

When i was a stubborn Child she always told me to take studies as a fun option. Her formula is to utilize the spare time of a day by STUDYing. If you’re getting bored it’s not necessary to move from this room to that room lazily. Instead, bring any book from the school bag and give it a read. Her motive was to “keep me in touch” with my studies. But, she didn’t know that it would gradually become my hobby. Like if you’re getting bored take a book and start reading!  😉

This book is real awesome, it’s my second good read. And it’s worth reading to maintain the good and Positive in YOU!

    My most Favourite Quote:

    EVERYONE ELSE IS VICTORIOUS.

    Glimpses from inside the book:

For why everyone should have THIS BOOK?

    Qatayef ; Sweet dumplings

    Origin

Qatayef is a very famous Egyptian dessert mostly & very commonly eaten during Ramadhan by the Arabs. It is a sweet dumpling  almost same as the pancakes but differs by the fact that qatayef are cooked only from one side.

    My reviews:

I made this delicious dessert for the first time and it’s so easy to make them. You’ll literally enjoy for how the whole cooking method reaches to success!

    Qatayef Recipe

    Ingredients:

    The dough:

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tbs corn starch
    ½ cup semolina
    2 tbs sugar
    1 tsp instant yeast
    2 tsp baking powder
1 tbs orange blossom water (optional)
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    2 ½ cup warm water

    Cheese filling:

    200g unsalted cream cheese
    6 tbs thick cream
    2-4 tbs icing sugar

    Walnuts filling:

    1 cup crushed walnuts
    1 tbs icing sugar
    1 tsp cinnamon powder

    Method:

    • Put all the ingredients in a blender. And give it a speedy stir until combined
    • Look at the consistency; you need a runny paste.
    • Now heat the non-stick pan and pour the smallest of your measuring cup in the pan. spread the batter with the back of the measuring cup making round movements.
    • Cook individual qatayef until you find the upper side  is being died or if the bubbles have formed.
    • When you were cooking all those qatayefs you need to make the fillings along. Just mix the cream filling ingredients with a fork. So that you can make a fine paste of Cream Cheese. You can use Kiri or cream cheese range of Almarai.
    • For making the walnuts filling it’s same! Just mix the ingredients of this filling and put them aside.
    • Now As we were done with making the qatayef. Its time to fill them with the fillings which suits you the best. I LIKE THE CREAM CHEESE FILLING so I’m going with it.
    • Put a small part of the filling in the qatayef, on the uncooked side. Seal them with the help of your fingers; by pressing the sides of the qatayef.
    • Now heat the oil. And deep fry your qatayefs on medium heat so that you would get a golden brown colour with a crispy crust.
    • Pour the sugar syrup you had on room temperature. Or use condensed milk instead.

Enjoy the sweet blend of cream cheese with coffee or tea.
Try making Qatayefs this Eid! ♦
