Barley Chapati

Hi everyone!

Today I’m gonna share a very easy thing with you… this recipe is the result of my own experiments. Hope you’d like it!

Barley as a Nutritious food:

It has a range of important vitamins and minerals: fiber, selenium, B vitamins, copper, chromium, phosphorus, magnesium, niacin, and more. And when compared to many other grains, even other ancient whole-grains, barley is lower in fat and calories, but higher in dietary fiber and certain trace minerals.

A very easy way of making barley a nice thing to be eaten…

You’ll be surprised when you’d see the result of your work; to make a chapati with barley flour, all you need is:

  • 3 cups of Barley flour
  • A teaspoon of Yeast
  • Salt
  • Warm water

Now just mix all the ingredents together. Add enough water to make a runny paste, the consistency should be same as like pancake mixture.
Now heat the non-stick pan you’re gonna make it in. Brush it with just a drop of oil. When you see the pan is nicely heated, pour the batter of barley with the help of a ladle & spread the mixture with the back of the ladle while circling it and stretching the batter out of the circle again and again.

Wait for it to get dry and form small air bubbles on the upper side you can see… just turn it upside down with the help of a food turner.  Keep pressing it with the turner from different sides. And when you see that cooked colour of golden and brown on it,

remove your chapati from the pan. And that’s all!
You can also brush the cooked chapati with ghee as it keeps it very soft and chewable.

p.s. I’ll be posting a small compilation of DIET OF A DIABETIC very soon. Keep intouch for that!

    Tiramisu

    Origin

Tiramisu is an Italian dessert enriched with the touch of coffee.

So it’s about today that I thought; I must try some nice dessert, and Tiramisu just came to my mind.

The recipe I’m sharing here is not how Original Italian tiramisu is made. Instead, this recipe is a result of a few variations. And it’s very common here in Saudi Arabia

    Recipe

    Ingredients:

    Heavy Cream/ regular Cream
    Nutella
    Tea biscuits
    Instant Coffee
    Cocoa Powder
    Sugar
    Vanilla Essence

    Formula:

Beat the cream for almost 20 min non-stop  with a few breaks. OR until it turns slightly thicker than before. Add sugar & vanilla essence in it and beat to combine them up.

Now pour 1/4 part of your cream in another bowl. Add Nutella in that cream It’s up to you, to your desired taste. Mix it well and leave it aside.
    Its time to make a cup of coffee with warm water, and just dip the biscuits for 1-2 seconds only and set them in any baking tray as a base. {I took double biscuit each time and it formed a nice thick base}
the second layer would be the Nutella-cream mi
    xture.
And now again its the turn for the coffee dipped biscuits. For the final layer or for the topping you need to spread the cream all over.
In the end just dust the cocoa powder over the cream and cover the tray with cling film and let it refrigerate for almost 2-3 hours.

    Tips & Tricks!

    • Don’t dip the biscuits longer than 3 seconds. As it would make your base so wobbly.
    • Try not to use the whipping cream. Because it has a kind of foamy texture and that doesn’t taste well.
    • If you’ll add less sugar in the vanilla cream mixture it would be better because Nutella is way too sweeter so, you have to balance the amount of sugar by yourself. IT’S ALL UPTO YOU.
Do let me know what was your first experience with this. And for any queries you can comment below. 🙂

    Family Feast; Vanilla Cupcakes

Today I tried this super awesome cupcake recipe. It’s so easy to make as well as to eat :p

    image

This is literally made for beginners like me and those of you who have never tried baking for fun. So, here you go for the simplest and perfect recipe of vanilla cupcakes. Yummm!

    Ingredients:
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon fine salt
3 medium eggs, at room temp
2/3 cup OR 155 gm sugar
6 ounces OR 12 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
    2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
    1/2 cup milk

    Method:

Before you start to do anything. Lets start the oven on 200°C or ( 400°F )

You need to take two medium bowls. In the first one add the dry ingredients; flour, salt and baking powder. Now wisk it to combine them up. As I find it way more easier than going for a dusting method.

In the other bowl, add the eggs. If you’re available with the refrigerated eggs due to which they are cold enough, no problem at all. Just take a small bowl and add the hot water from your geezer (make it sure that it’s not too hot or boiling: else it will cook the eggs). Beat them for 30 seconds and add sugar, again beat them gradually from lowest of your beater’s speed to the highest. While beating them for 2 minutes add the butter and vanilla essence along. Still beat and beat for another 2 minutes.

Hope you’re done with beating 🙂

now! It’s time to add the dry ingredients which you put aside before.Add them little by little.Pour milk if the consistency reduces to a dough type texture. The real consistency you need is a creamy one. Don’t forget to beat it well for a minute.

When you were doing this just call you younger siblings to do the tray set up. Grease the paper cases, and put them in the cupcake tray and add the batter to the half. Because it will need enough space to rise.

    image

This is how they looked like; while baking in the oven for 5 minutes.

You’ll get it completely done by almost 15 to 20 minutes!

    Happy Baking this Eid!
